Molapo who is founder and president of the I CAN Leadership Co. Africa will
host the Fourth Industry Revolution Leadership Seminar on the 21st to 22 February 2019 at the Convention Centre.
Speakers for the seminar are Sian Louw, Reabetwe Molapo, Kevin Wakeford, Linda Khumalo, Dr Phil Mnisi amongst others. The First Industrial Revolution was characterized by steam and water to mechanize production; the Second
Industrial Revolution being the introduction of electricity to mass produce things, and the Third Industrial Revolution is characterized by the internet; while the Fourth Industrial Revolution is building on the third Industrial Revolution and is characterized by a fusion of technologies that is blurring the real world with the technological world. Molapo stated that the Fourth Industrial Revolution has the potential to global income levels and it improves the quality of life for populations around the world. According to Molapo, the eight elements of the Fourth Industrial Revolution are the internet of things, Artificial Intelligence, Nanotechnology, 3D Printing, Autonomous Vehicles, Robotics, Cyber Security, and Crypto Currency. The internet of things is the major element of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and it drives the rest of the seven elements of the fourth Industrial Revolution, because everything in the Fourth Industrial Revolution is driven by the ability to connect things to the internet.
He further highlighted on the careers in the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which include loT Architect, loT Economist, Ai Programmers, Ai Integrators, Nanotechnologists, Cyber Investigators, Robotic Engineers, and Robotics Technicians amongst others. Additionally, the Digital Technology Industry, now mainly driven by the applications
and internet industry, is a complex industry. The industries are managed separately; they have convergence as the underlying basis of their individual developments. Therefore, in future this sub-industry will be seen and be treated as a Digital Technology Industry. The interesting aspect is also the fact that the internet is setting standards and dictating the evolution of their Digital Technology Industry. The result of this internet influence is the introduction of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
